STOKE and QPR were the only teams to leave players out of their 25-man squads when they were revealed last night.

The Potters' deadline day £22million spending spree on Peter Crouch, Wilson Palacios and Cameron Jerome sidelined four of their fringe players.

Wales international Danny Collins is the most high-profile while Tom Soares, Danny Pugh and Michael Tonge also missed out.

Airline Tycoon Tony Fernandes' takeover of QPR saw the west Londoners splash the cash at the expense of five of their Championship-winning squad.

Strikers Rob Hulse and Patrick Agyemang join winger Hogan Ephraim, defender Danny Shittu and Norwegian Petter Vaagan Moen in being ousted.

Vaagan Moen only signed for Rangers from SK Brann on a free transfer in January and played eight games in their triumphant title run-in.

Premier League teams are forced to name a squad of up to 25 players with a maximum of 17 of those allowed to be non-homegrown.

Norwich had the most homegrown players, 21 of their 23-man squad having come through the ranks and English and Welsh clubs.

Arsenal named the fewest, with just five of their 22 coming through the ranks.

Of those, only Kieran Gibbs and Theo Walcott are English, with Johan Djourou, Alex Song and Vito Mannone also classed as homegrown after coming through the Gunners' academy.
