Sir Me
Anybody had any luck with the deals so far? I tried to get the 37" Toshiba 1080p Freeview HD for £249.99 - sold out in seconds. I tried to get the Nintendo Wii with Resort/Sports/Controllers etc for £50.00 - sold out in seconds. I tried to get the Canon 12.1 mp camera for £50.00 - sold out in seconds. No luck so far, so the stockings are still empty...in the loft When you look past the rubbish there are some great deals, but when you look at the rubbish its being snapped up in seconds as it's a 'Black Friday' deal. I.E Electric Screwdriver - £50.00. The 'House' boxset was more expensive than the Nintendo Wii!
Hartley Hare
Don't think your experience is a solitary one, judging from posts on other forums - even on Amazon's own site people are complaining about items immediately out of stock. But it's publicity and traffic for Amazon, they can't lose really.
davenportram
have you tried this http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/shopping/cheap-amazon-loopholes#tool_anchort about half way down there is a table called discoutn finder with a Xmas Quick link tab. Click on that and then it gives links to certain amazon deals. managed to find this Kodak 12MP camera for £59.99 - and it uses a Kodak Rechargeacble abttery with in camera charging so no faffing with AA's http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kodak-EasyShare-M530-Digital-Camera/dp/tech-data/B0037KM7HE/ref=de_a_smtd

Hartley Hare
People clicking in the Add to Basket button, message comes up saying "Waiting in Queue", then nothing happens. Servers can't cope with demand, requests to add to basket fail but no return back to the browser to indicate failure. No error trapping, so shoppers left hanging just assuming they're in a queue when in reality the item they want to buy is selling out while they think they're queuing for it. Poor service from Amazon, which is unusual. You kind of get the feeling they haven't quite thought this through, they'll get a lot of bad press for it. But at least you can still get a complete set of Poirot dvd's for just 34.97.....
