Day
Five players from Derby County's Academy have put pen-to-paper on professional contracts with the Rams. Goalkeeper James Severn, defender Kallum Keane, midfielders Jeffrey Hendrick and Graham Kelly as well as attacker Ryan Connolly have all signed professional terms with Nigel Clough's first-team squad. Connolly, Hendrick and Severn were all involved in the first-team squad during the closing stages of last season, with Connolly coming off the bench on the final day of the season against Cardiff City at Pride Park. Manager Nigel Clough told dcfc.co.uk: "We're pleased all five have signed professional terms with us and we look forward to seeing them develop further during the forthcoming season." Kelly, Connolly and Hendrick have all represented the Republic of Ireland at youth level, while Severn has gained international honours at youth level with England. http://www.dcfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10270~2087069,00.html

Boycie
I agree, they may still be garbage (that's american for rubbish) but at least they didn't cost us £300-500K each to find out.
Perky1106
Best of luck to the five of them. Good to see an increase in Irish players cause there's a chance of them actually playing international football.
