Player integration

Been thinking about the approach of Lampard with regard to integration of players into the match day squad and starting eleven. 

He seems very keen on getting players to a certain level. Whether that be fitness or understanding of systems I guess is dependent on the player. I think it's great. The only slight exception has been Waghorn who was thrown in. 

It got me thinking about why he's doing this. 

Is it based on his experience as a player and wanting to give players the best foundation? 

Or has he picked up on the penchant for Derby fans to take an instant dislike to a player if he doesn't score/assist/ set the world alight on their debut? That is unless they're from trh academy in which case they are lauded regardless of performance. 

I think it's commendable and really gives the players the best chance of success long term. Long may it continue.
