Zagreb too big and strong for us, they're like a team of Balkan wrestlers.

Dinamo Zagreb 2 is actually playing in the Second Division in Croatia, which is equal to the Championship. They are also the leaders at the table at the moment. They can't promote to the First Division because of the league rules.

Here I will allow myself a small digression as I am much more informed by being Croatian originally and as well born in Zagreb. You have also missed several other important players who were also coming from Dinamo's Academy:

  • Luka Modrić transferred to Tottenham Hotspur in 2008 for 21 million euros
  • Mateo Kovačić transferred to Inter in 2013 for 15 million euros
  • Eduardo da Silva transferred to Arsenal in 2007 for 15 million euros
  • Vedran Ćorluka transferred to Manchester City in 2007 for 13 million euros
  • Dejan Lovren transferred to Olympique Lyon in 2010 for 9,5 million euros
  • Jerko Leko transferred to Dynamo Kiev in 2003 for 5,5 million euros
  • Šime Vrsaljko transferred to Genoa in 2014 for 4,5 million euros
  • Alen Halilović transferred to Barcelona in 2013 for 4,5 million euros
  • Tin Jedvaj transferred to Roma in  2013 for 5 million euros
  • Milan Badelj transferred to Hamburger Sport Verein in 2012 for 4,5 million euros
  • Boštjan Cesar transferred to Olympique Marseille in  2005 for 2,5 million euros
  • Hrvoje Čale transferred to Trabzonspor in 2008 for 2,2 million euros
  • Niko Kranjčar transferred to Hajduk Split in 2005 for 1,5 million euros
