Righting the wrongs!

Bryson was still injured - he suffered a setback in December following his slight return and has been slowly working his way back since then  - see http://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/Derby-County-Fresh-injury-setback-Rams-midfield/story-28340783-detail/story.html - in a rare sensible decision for this club, he's not been rushed back.

Bent - I can't explain other people's decisions for them! We have an overblown squad. Even Wassall said he'd have started one match but for a migraine, then 3 days later he'd disappeared from the bench again. Even so, Bent hasn't exactly done anything in his cameos this season to suggest he deserves a place in the squad. Perhaps the thought was Martin would play through his bad patch, and that keeping our faith in him would pay off?

Hanson is a tenacious, chasing midfielder who loves a tackle, but he's not a natural replacement for Thorne - he's not in the team to read the play and break up the opposition attacks with well timed interceptions - his nickname isn't Bruiser for nothing.

It's easy with hindsight to say how poor Bradley Johnson has been, but if we were going for the combative type in that position then it's easy to see why a player with as much experience as Johnson was picked ahead of him (if only he wasn't such a moronic dope of a footballer) - it's less easy to see why anyone ever puts Hendrick there, but all of our recent managers seem to have this habit.
