David
David Bentley has been charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a car accident. The Tottenham midfielder has been bailed until 28th August following the incident on Wednesday night. He is sorry for his actions and realises that he has a responsibility to set a better example as a Premier League footballer. "I should like to apologise to my club and the supporters for my actions which led to my car accident last night and my subsequent charge," Bentley said in a statement on Spurs' official website. "It was wholly unacceptable and I fully appreciate that as a professional footballer I have a duty to behave in a reputable and responsible manner. "I am thankful that nobody was injured in the accident. This has been a wake-up call for me both personally and professionally." sheepyderf
Should be a lifetime ban and a jail sentence. That'd put a lot of people off having "just one more, it won't hurt owt"

David
Now I don't drive but I certainly do drink, but what I don't get is why must you drink at all if your driving? forget the 1 pint or glass of wine whilst driving just ban drinking at all if your drinking. Perky1106
Drink driving is 100% idiocy. I would never drive home drunk. I'd rather pay for a taxi, or even better walk the long distance.
MrOrdinary
i always walk, have you seen them taxi fares, its a joke and drink driving is not good, having been hit by a sober driver, i can only imagine how horrible it is from some one whos had a drink
CumbrianRam
I bet Blackburn are glad they sold him for £15 million last summer.
David
Spurs will be lucky to recoup the £15m when they manage to sell him, I thought Villa would have been interested at a cut down fee.
