CumbrianRam
According to SSN, Portsmouth manager Tony Adams is going to get sacked in the morning. A bit harsh after the Liverpool game me thinks.
gawa_ram
Nah not harsh for me - Adams is never a manager. Makes a good coach but doesn't seem to be able to make the step up to the number one job. Feel sorry for him though - must be awful to have been a top defender and then see good centre backs such as Campbell/Distin make such rudimentary mistakes in games that cost you goals. Pompey need to find a bit of form soon or they'll be up against it. Any names mentioned as a successor?
PearTree Ram
They gave him the board backing a week ago, i wouldn't be too surprised if they now get rid of him. Ince, Allardyce...now Adams....that the Merrygoround for you.
David
Harsh but shouldnt of been appointed in the first place. Why Let him sign players if his job was on the line?
PearTree Ram
We could do with a defensive coach, if we can't get Gary Rowett.
gawa_ram
What odds for him to turn up at Spurs? Imagine the uproar.

I would think he would be finished as a manager in the top flight if he did get sacked in the morning. Ince for Portsmouth
gawa_ram
No I meant as part of Redknapp's coaching staff - though I do agree with you, can't see him managing again. Disaster at Wycombe and disaster at Pompey - some people just aren't cut out for it. I reckon it'll be someone completely leftfield - Souness or Keane or some foreign manager a la Perrin. David
Doubt they would appoint Ince, they will want an experienced manager, my guess would be Curbs.

Perky1106
Paul Jewell for Portsmouth. Or Glenn Roeder. Boothroyd. Curbishley perhaps. Avram Grant could be worth a go for them?

Perky1106
So do I. He did used to work at Portsmouth, some sort of upstairs role or coaching role. I'm pretty sure he'll be one of the top names on the odds list on SSN tomorrow morning.
CumbrianRam
Portsmouth's 2008/09 season reminds me of our 2001/02 season.
PearTree Ram
MOTD2 will probably discuss it now, Chiles has already mentioned it and Curbs was sitting on the sofa earlier with Dixon. Surely they will ask Curbs ? Chiles i mean...
Thornhill
Curbishly, if they have any sense.
David
Avram Grant is a good shout, as it's been mentioned he's been at the club already, did a decent job at Chelsea, just wasnt a big enough name for them at the end of the day. Doubt they'd go for Jewell or Boothroyd, think they will both have to prove themselves again with a Championship club.
Thornhill
not be be insultive but Pompey are quite a small club in terms of capacity and somewhat expectation, with a good team, Jewell would do well there and I would certain take an interest in any team the man manages (baring Forest and Leeds)
Haydn
My shout would be for either Avram or Curbs.
David
I don't deny Jewell is a decent manager and will find another 'Wigan' where he can establish himself again. The problem is the most recent entry on his CV is, employed at Derby County in the hope he could keep them up in the Premiership or at least put up a fight, and he left us just over a year later struggling at the bottom of the Championship. I don't blame PJ fully for our Premiership season, BD should shoulder most of the blame for the squad he assembled for the Premiership. He messed up big time this season, his tactics were not right for the team he assembled. We have shown under Clough that this team can play football and is a happier team when playing football compared to hoofball.
