Wassall is in charge tomorrow. Why not give him a few games? A very eloquent , professional guy, who brought on the young lads.

Agreed and the board have recognised this hopefully by not placing him on gardening leave with Garner et al

Rush just said how much he rates Darren. It might cross their minds to make him Head Coach with an ( obviously) experienced Director of Football. Wassall is inexperienced at the higher level , but has the progress of Hughes, Hendrick, O'Brien and Bennett on his CV.

Plus, he is untainted goods. And cheap.

Because they (Amigos) did the same with Westley, refused to consider him for the permanent job and we ended up losing a fine academy director which set the youth development back years.

Yes but Westley wanted the job. There is nothing to say that Wassall isn't perfectly happy with his lot managing the Academy, Maybe he's even said he doesn't want to be considered.

Did Westley want the job before he was appointed as caretaker, or was it the fact that he managed us to the end of the season, kept us up and then thought "I can do this"? Would Wassall want the job after he is appointed caretaker and given a few games?

At the moment, I don't know whether people are comparing apples with oranges.
