Wonder what was meant when Dawes said there was things happening with the Academy, Darren Wassall etc that he couldn’t talk about
I think we might be changing the style of the academy maybe a b team structure or simply a complete restructure on recruitment

There is zero chance you would be suggesting Conor Washington if it wasn’t already linked.
You are correct but I do remember him at charlton and he wasn’t that bad at all

Would take Finn Azzaz in a heartbeat at no 10

mcatee city midfielder scored 16 and assisted 26 in u23 , Dutch defender at wolves and Rak Saki from palace good numbers for charlton.
if I was derby I’d spend money on good loan fees

Which striker would you like us to sign? It's a genuine question.
There's a distinct lack of quality strikers who have become free agents, and if they are good and free, then they'll likely have a lot of offers.
I think we'll rely on a "good" loanee for the main striker spot, but that might have to wait til the end of the window. In the meantime if players like Washington can contribute to the squad, then it could be a good option.
If it's not a loan, we'll have to pay a fee. I haven't seen any names or suggestions that would be a no-brainer. Players like Bonis might be good, might not. Players like JCH might cost too much and have no real resale value, or he might fire us to promotion.
Strikers are one of the most scrutinised positions along with goalkeepers, in my opinion. They get judged on one thing. I'm happy to go with Warne's judgement on who he thinks we need, then judge for myself once they've played a decent number of games for us.
Tbh
for me Harding or Bradley free CB
LWB/RWB - sessagnon on free or another loan from prem
CAM - Brannagan for money / or spend money on JCH
W/CF - Two loans + Washington

I genuinely feel confident about this season I think certain players will be a surprise package.
my prediction
2nd automatic promotion
top scorer Collins 16 goals
fewer goals scored but stronger at the back

People have replied to the club’s tweet about pre-season training trying to get the Twitter admin to reveal a signing, such as Alfie May, which includes someone zooming in and circling one of the “mannequins” used in training to say it’s him…. It’s clearly not Alfie May. @B4ev6is you have to stop believing everything you read on Twitter.
EDIT - another screenshot for context, there are no actual players in this pic, it’s people being daft….Oh I can see him! He’s over there between the land and the sky!

I’m really really hoping Cash recreates the iconic Jake Buxton plastic bag and scruffy old polo shirt photo.
Wildsmith turns up in a b&m tracksuit , cashin comes in on kids go kart eating a bag of haribo now that would be iconic

I suspect that when the deal is completed for Beilik, a striker for a fee will be incoming shortly after. If May's fee is around 300k, the money saved on Beilik's before the end of the transfer window, would pay for it, nevermind any fee received for him.
Fee itself will go to Arsenal but the wages in themselves would pay for the striker around £250-300k

Big Trav any ideas on positions do you know ?
i’d guess another CB + LCB/LWB cover on loan
Another midfielder who is more versatile on loan
a mcgolderick replacement
another two SK one hold up one goal scorer
another winger who can play across the three
maybe a defensive cover for RB/RWB
id imagine
X1 free
x3 -4 loans
2-3 players bought
knight gone by the end of the window
Bielik obviously
odourah Thompson on loan
Flint or Harding
u23 prem defender
u23 am maybe Finn Azzaz
winger /fw Saki loan or another u23
commanding midfielder
washington + May or loan forward

So with Davies gone who do everyone thing will be the new captain and vice-captain?

hourihane- captain
Cashin - vice the responsibility might work wonders -

He's a player with 76 games half in league 1. I've yet to see him get MOTM awards at international level against France and The Ukraine. Once again I'll stand by my opinion that Knight was very good last season and covered huge amounts of pedestrian play with his willingness too carry other peoples arses. This poor season is a myth. There is no chance of replacing him for the money offered.
Derbys biggest problem is not selling players at the right time
from memory
hulse 4m- Middlesbrough ended up going to qpr for 200k
martin I think was wanted for somewhere between 3-5m ended up with multiple loans and free
knight - 5-7m a few seasons ago - now be lucky to get 2m +
-
Playoffs at least with the current squad top 10 with the right additions top two
-
new CB - Monday afternoon
new striker - Tuesday
Bielik to Birmingham- Wednesday
derby confirm they have accepted a bid for knight - Friday
second forward player - following Monday
-
1.75-2m for knight + ladapo id take that

Do you mean Rak-Sakyi at Charlton?
You’re going to have to give us a bit more of a clue regarding the Lincoln player. There are quite a few “guys” there. 😀
7 minutes ago, Ghost of Clough said:Hopefully not Jack Diamond given the reason for his loan at Lincoln being terminated and subsequent suspension by Sunderland.
House I think his name is

Can anyone tell me who the young lad at palace was who went on loan to charlton he had a double-barrelled name Saki or something. I think he looks decent scored 15-16 goals in a poor charlton side or the guy at Lincoln can’t remember his name .
as for loans I’d try Delap did not set the world alight in the championship but might need a league 1 loan or Morgan Whittaker perhaps the other one I quite like is mcauley Woodrow
-
Number 5- Bradley or Flint
Number 6- May or Washington
number 7- Second striker
number 8- CB loan
number 9- midfielder loan
number 10- utility player free
-
Apparently it’s white and black with red on it
chequered pattern away
turquoise for third

There’s probably a reason why these players go to burton or orient either they lack ambition or are simply not considered good enough.
Besides bar flint or Bradley or Harding I’d rather pay loan fees for all the other signings.
if we’re in need of recruitment spend the money in January.
