  1. Ipswich spent 2.4 million in transfers and average age was 29.
  2. We need the spine of the team with experience. And a few fresh players around the older experienced players. Remember when Cloughie brought in Dave MacKay people said he was past it. Cloughie put some younger players around him as you never lose the football brain. 75 we we won the league i think we had half the team around 30 years old. We need experience.
  3. PW will have new players in know doubt about that. It's whether we find ourselves mid table or top half by Xmas. Not too sure of PW's record in the Championship? Seems to be the one that can get a team up from league 1 but ...... Let's stay as we are regarding contracts and see how we are in the Championship first. Xmas 24 maybe a time to look at and make decisions for the future. You never know we could do an Ipswich now that would fantastic!
  4. Why not? The team finishing 3rd is certainly not good enough for promotion in that particular division. Hence why it always worked fairly before the football league grubby little fingers got involved to make more money. 2 up 2 down or 3 up 3 down, promotion and relegation is based over season not on whether you can finish 6th and get promotion.
  5. If we must have playoffs- Top 2 and bottom 2 swap over- like the olden days. Team finishing 3rd has to prove that can compete with the team who finished 3rd bottom. Bearing in mind they would have two weeks at the end of the season to prepare for a one off Wembly game. Or do away with the playoffs altogether and go 3 up 3 down. After all its about how you do over a season rather than either 1 or 3 games.
  6. I said .."Premier league and championship would be a straight swap. Bottom. 3 for the top 3."
  7. To make the playoffs more justifiable they should be done something like this. Top two automatic promotion Whoever finishes 3rd has to play the team 3rd bottom from the league above. This then proves whether they are capable of playing in that league above. I hate to think a team finishes 3rd is beaten in the playoff final by the 6th place side just because they had an off day or too many injuries. Premier league and championship would be a straight swap. Bottom. 3 for the top 3. It's not about fairness it's about the football league's grubby little fingers making money.
  8. You might find both sides play with complete changed sides. Neither side will want to get injured players going into the playoffs. We do know the Bolton boss has settled for the playoffs before Posh did. Come on you negative lot - we are 1pt away from promotion, at home in front of 30,000+, against a team already relegated with nothing to play for. COYR
  9. This thread should be renamed doom & gloom.😂
  10. come on we only need to draw at home in front 30,000 plus against the poorest side in the division who are already relegated. Forget P'boro and Bolton .....
  11. Just need a 2nd goal straight after half time. COYR
  12. A win today virtually give us promotion today and we will have party time against Carlisle. What an atmosphere that will be!!! COYR
