The [url=http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/standard-home/related-15322-articles-reviews/Reading+FC/related.do]Royals were looking to make an immediate return to the Premier League following their relegation last season and had made a superb start to the campaign only to see their form fall away in the final three months of the season. Second-half goals from Martin Paterson and Steven Thompson at the Madjeski Stadium yesterday ended the Royals hopes and instead ensured Burnley will play [url=http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/standard-home/related-37932-articles-reviews/Sheffield+United+FC/related.do]Sheffield United at Wembley for a place in the Premier League. Coppell had initially refused to comment on his future in the post-match press conference but just a few hours later the 53-year-old confirmed his departure in a statement on Reading's official website. vicky-27
I don't think any team has had more chances than us to get promoted," said Steve Coppell. "We've gone nine games without a win at home and if we'd won three of them we might be contemplating the Premier League. "I can't understand our home form and it was something I couldn't solve which is what has cost us promotion. "I apologise to the fans. A manager is judged on results and if I feel we have had the opportunities to go up and we haven't done then it's my fault."
Dangerous
I like the guy.I think some of his stars "went missing" and let the team down.Having said that I thought they were the best performing team at Derby this season.Really suprised theyve not gone up.
