SSD
Hi all Just wondering if anyone could help me out. I was wondering is it possible to connect the ps3 to the laptop monitor? I've bought a VGA to HDMI cable on ebay but I don't know if that'll help. Thankss 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />
Day
Don't think laptops have inputs only outputs as standard, could be wrong but I'm pretty sure as usual I'm not
SSD
Can I get a converter of some sort? 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
Day
I would say no, ran a few quick searches in Google and it seems to agree
Martyn
Unless you have a very weird laptop there is no way to get it to display the output of anything but the laptop itself, no converters/cables/special software will help. Sorry. Any particular reason you're trying to do this BTW? Unless you've a massive laptop screen surely a TV's better anyway?
SSD
My parents are borrowing my TV I used for my PS3 so I'm looking for alternatives 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> I found something called HD fury which would do the trick buts its about 60 quid so I may as well go and get a new TV with that 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' /> you can get built in DVD LCD Tv's for 90 quid 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' />
Martyn
Be careful, I don't think that HD fury will do what you want either... What you really need is another monitor/TV, any other solution will probably end up costing more and be poorer quality.
SSD
Yeah it's more than likely that'll I'll buy a new TV 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' /> since its my birthday soon I might see what happens 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />
Martyn
It would be your safest bet and you end up with a new telly. :-)
p.shilton
I know it will be a bit crap and Scart rather than HDMI but people are giving away shed loads of old CRT TVs at the minute- would be a stop gap but I have seen TV's (60") that I paid £1500 about 6 years ago being given away for nowt- as well as much smaller ones obviously. With the sales raging people are buying flat panels and ditching the old tv's- even my parents are thinking about it! Hope this helps....Have a look at freecycle or freegle or even on Ebay they are literally going for a few quid.
