WorksopRam
I apologise if this is a sensitive subject for anyone, it's certainly not in my intentions to upset anyone. I know many people nowadays donate blood or are registered on the organ donor list, but the low numbers of people signed up to the bone marrow donor list is quite astonishing. I urge all of you to check up on the subject and consider signing up to the donation list. http://www.anthonynolan.org/ It covers a lot of myths about the process (it put my mind at ease) and gives the facts on how you can help someone. Obviously it's not for everyone, but I'd appreciate it if you could have a look. Cheers.

dcfcdavecov
Might stick myself on it. Don't give blood often enough....think you have to wait 2 years after a contracting a STD. Only joking, but i should give blood more, i'm a rare O type or samthin. I'm on the "plunder my body when i die" list though.

It's simply you being hooked up to a small tube in each arm for a couple of hours, with blood passing out and being filtered, then returning to the body. Much simpler than how I first thought. GboroRam
I was under the impression that it is quite painful if truth be told, and chances are that anyone unrelated to you wouldn't be a match - but if the search came up with a match and I could help save a life, of course I would. Hartley Hare
I'm on the bone marrow register, and I give blood. Doesn't cost me anything but a little time, and I get a free cuppa and biscuit out of it. What's not to like about that?
GboroRam
Plus you get to feel quietly smug, knowing you're a good person. And you might be able to get an "I give blood" sticker to put on the front door, to keep the Jehovah's away.
