Progression or Depression

When GSE came to Derby in January 2008 we were all jubilant and full of high hopes for our beloved Rams, how ever our current position as a football club has come under scrutiny from fans.

Tom Glick and Nigel Clough have slashed the wage bill by a considerable amount which as a football club in the modern game is not a bad thing, but questions have to be raised on the genuine intentions of the "heirachy" at Derby , are they in it for the money or do they genuinely want to see Derby progess as a force in the football league.

with the departure of that boy Kris Commons who has scored 13 goals this campaign on the cards for a measly 300k the clubs intentions are becoming clearer, ok sell him now because we could lose him for free in the summer but why has it got to this stage ? why didnt we pen him to a contract before now ? and if he were to go now surely we should be looking at a 6 figure sum.

the capture of Ben Davies is a promosing one but no offence to Ben he is no Kris Commons , having both of them on each wing would be great to see.

also why do the board have so much faith in Nigel Clough , is it because he has the potential to drive the Rams forward or is it because they know Nigel will not say boo to a ghost in the boardroom and is a yes man, as for Clough's tactical abilities , playing players out of postition , signing unproven players , refusing to attend post match interviews does that shout out he is the man for Derby.

Obviously fans are not happy with the current form of the Rams specifically the hammering we took at Forest , the embarrasing display at Crawley and the "heirachy" still keep clinging on to "we were playing well 8 week ago" card , yes we put a good run together but its not like we won the world cup , we did what we are suppose to do week in and week out, back in the good run period in my opinion Frank Fielding and Shefki Kuqi were instrumental in that vibrant team, today Kuqi is without a club and we could well use his services once again but Clough deemed not to buy him on transfer day.

On Transfer deadline day , we did nothing except sell ,, Clough expected Connor Sammon to stay at Kilmarnock by saying “we will watch him until the end of season†, how small minded is the club , look what happened , he went to Wigan , We were promised cash from the Commons deal , where is it ? the cash from Moxey where is it ? even the cash from Hulse this seems like the self destruction of Dcfc.

Next we have Ipswich and a defeat to a Paul Jewell team will be devastating to say the least , just how long will GSE give Clough if he continues this bad run , we need positive football , players playing in there positions and "established" signings.

my personal views are Clough is not the for the Rams, he is a lower league manager using lower league tactics signing lower league players (how other Championship clubs can gete quality loan signings from the prem and we cant is beyond me) , GSE need to leave and we need backers who want to see the Rams grow as a football club and bring back positive football to Pride Park.

In respect of purchasing players and loans. Clough will be putting his targets in the CEO and board negotiate the deals. They are so tight they try and haggle and play hard ball and lose out EVERY TIME. That is not Clough that is the board. When it comes to loans we pay an element to the wages CEO decides the level if not what he wants he refuses. This then leaves Clough looking bad which makes Glick happy as he keeps away from the stick. With injuries suspensions illness poor form Clough has little options in the squad and has tried to keep it going. Clough learnt from his dad when you fight the board in public you are gone. He is doing it the round a bout way by now saying ask the CEO. He can't publicly bad mouth the board, they are his employers and doing so will see you sacked just like you and me in civvie street. This is Owners, the board and CEO responsibility and no one elses
