It's always a hard question when you ask who was the greatest England player as I didn't see the 66 World Cup winning team play I can only go on recent history, and in recent history England players have underperformed. Day Posted March 28, 2009 Share Posted March 28, 2009 Football has changed alot since the 60's, I think it's impossible to imagine players such as George Best, Pele, Maradona in todays game. I just wish I was born earlier to see those players play, then I think when I'm 60 or 70 telling the grandkids about Zidane, Ronaldo they would feel the same I guess.
