GR - the making of a manager

I was just thinking what influences and situations GR was drawing on throughout this season to maintain our promotion push.

It occurred to me the best influence on anybody would be people his worked with in the passed. I then decided to trawl through his playing career and look at the people he would learnt from or dealt with closely. I have tried to look at each chronologically i.e.  date wise.

Cambridge Utd  - John Beck/Gary Johnson.

Everton - Joe Royle

Derby County - Jim Smith

Birmingham City -Barry Fry

Leicester City -Peter Taylor/Dave Bassett

Charlton Athletic -Alan Curbishley

Burton Albion - Nigel Clough.

As you see he has come in contact with people who were both very good organisers and motivators. Strong minded individuals who were driven and did not take any nonsense. 

These are traits he has brought with him to Derby. These and a burning will to succeed.

This why he will get Derby to the promised land (if not this year then next).

We need to hang on to him for as long as we can as he is definitely destined for higher things.
