Day
Blue Square North club Eastwood Town have signed former Derby County striker Paris Simmons. Simmons came through the ranks at Derby and made his first-team debut in May 2008, the final day of the season, in a Premier League game against Reading as a substitute. Simmons` senior chances were restricted by Paul Jewell's massive squad reconstruction following relegation from the Premier League and in October 2008 he joined Burton Albion on a month`s loan but returned without scoring a goal for the Brewers as they chased promotion. He went out on loan again to Coca-Cola League Two Lincoln City last March in one month deal, but returned to Derby after just four days after sustaining an ankle injury and it was announced the following May that he would not be offered a new deal by the Rams at the end of his contract. He has since spent time on trial at Premier League new boys Wolverhampton Wanderers and had also had offers of trials at Slovan Bratislava and MSV Duisburg.
