DCFC Fans Update 20th March

Day

Recommended Posts

Rather than start a new topic, just wanted to add in here what this mornings downtime was about.

For geeks, I've moved all our static files to a separate Nginx server, images, CSS, JS will all be served from that now. As well as running memcached should see a boost.

For non geeks, you know all the pictures you post, avatars, and the files that say how the forum looks, well they all come from a separate server dedicated to these kind of files, the result is quicker loading hopefully.

Because we have 750k posts, it's taking it's time going through them all rebuilding the images, sending them to the new server and deleting them from the old. It's been almost an hour and only completed 14% so I've turned the forum back on.

It will run a tad slow at times maybe and you may also see broken images from time to time, don't panic, don't adjust your screens and the forum may flash off and on for a few seconds if an important file is being moved. Should take a few hours and be complete.
