Day
Kris Commons is out of Derby County’s Centenary Cup clash at Chesterfield on Saturday and is likely to miss the three-match pre-season tour of Devon next week. A tight hamstring forced Commons to sit out the win against Burton Albion at the weekend and he has not trained this week. “Kris is not available for Chesterfield which will probably mean he does not go down to the south coast with us next week,†said Rams manager Nigel Clough. “He will need to stay at Moor Farm to catch up on the week or two of training he has missed.†Derby face three matches in five days next week against Yeovil Town, Torquay United and Exeter City. “The lads will be playing matches but Kris will not be ready to do that,†said Clough. “He needs to do quite a bit of work in order to catch up with the rest of the lads even now.†Striker Rob Hulse has handed the Rams a boost. Last season’s leading scorer missed the opening fixture of pre-season against Burton due to a groin strain but he came through a tough training session yesterday. “Rob completed everything, which is good,†said Clough. “We will look to get him some time on the pitch on Saturday.†[url=http://therams.co.uk/stories/commons-on-the-sidelines]http://therams.co.uk/stories/commons-on-the-sidelines
