Robbie Savage to Tranmere

During announcing the local sports news, City 96.7 said that the former Welsh International was in talks with the club, after being told by Derby County he can leave on a free transfer to ease the club's wage bill.

With the likely departure of Antony Kay to Huddersfield yet to be announced officially, this could lead the path to Rovers signing the former Manchester United,Crewe Alexandra,Leicester City, Birmingham City and Blackburn Rovers midfielder.

Savage would bring experience to the squad, however can he still do a job at his age? Brighton Fans were not to keen on him, and would possibly have a high wage demand, is he really worth another high wage, in the club's current financial status?

Hopefully the news from Radio City 96.7 is nothing but speculation.

Doesnt sound true at all, I'm sure Clough said that Savage was part of his plans next season and I tell you what if the fan who wrote that had seen Savage play since Cloughs arrival he wouldn't be questioning if he is still good enough.
