In a nutshell, Derby help cover costs of the Academy team while the Michigan Wolves act as a US-based scouting organization for Derby, hoping to send UK-eligible players over to train with the club in England.

Wonder if we will sign another player in for the "developement squad" this summer. There was another U.S player over here training with the Rams Academy last summer who is a year younger than Doyle. Doyle came over in the summer of 2009, when he was still at school and subsequently was signed next summer as a free agent. We could have done with some more players in just now so maybe this link has ran its course. Why not any established players as well and not just kids.

Noted that Reading signed up a couple of American youngsters at the end of the last transfer window and of course there were two full U.S. internationals who moved over to Britain this window

Forest brought over Findley

Villa brought over Bradley.
