Guest
I have just finished reading what I can only describe as an excellent and detailed book on Brian Clough and Peter Taylor's grounding in league management at Hartlepools United before they joined Derby in 1967. I've got all of the books on their career and this completes the final detail; their time at Derby, Brighton, Leeds and Forest have previously been comprehensively covered in other publications. It is entitled Alchemy: Brian Clough & Peter Taylor at Hartlepools United by Christopher Hull. I bought it new on Amazon third-party suppliers at the cheapest available price of £13.74 with free delivery. The book is very well researched with full insights from those who witnessed first-hand their entry into management. In addition to the football detail, it captures remarkably well the economic, political, geographical and sociological scene prevailing the time. I can fully recommend it to any fans interested in their path to the Baseball Ground all those years ago.
