derbydan Posted July 27, 2010 Share Posted July 27, 2010 Paul Green will have the opportunity to pick up his third cap for the Republic of Ireland next month. The Derby County midfielder has been called up the Ireland squad to face Argentina on Wednesday 11th August 2010 in a friendly at the AVIVA Stadium in Dublin. As a result, Green will miss Derby's Carling Cup 1st Round tie with Crewe Alexandra a day earlier. Green made his debut for Ireland in May, coming off the bench against Paraguay to win his first cap before making his first start with a goal in the 3-0 success over Algeria days later. He earned praise from Ireland boss Giovanni Trappatoni and skipper Robbie Keane for the way he burst onto the international scene.
