Derby manager Nigel Clough is trying to sign a right-back on loan as cover for Paul Connolly.

He said: "We are still making enquiries on a daily basis for players."

Shotton played against Derby earlier in the season in a pre-season friendly at Pride Park and has been on loan at Tranmere and Altrincham in recent seasons.

England Under 20 international Vidal has been on loan at Grimsby and Aberdeen.
