Second tier English soccer side Derby County have signed a deal with Amazon that will see an immediate expansion of the club's retail channels.

Amazon, one of the world’s most popular purchasing websites, will now offer the Derby County retail range, including the home, away, third and training kits, to a wider international audience.

Commenting on the deal, Derby County chief executive Tom Glick said: “We already have a great operation in place for our supporters to buy our fantastic merchandise, but by teaming up with Amazon it will help expand our reach.

“Amazon is a global brand recognised for excellent service as well as a quick and efficient way to distribute goods anywhere in the world.

“As a club, we have made big strides over the past twelve months to meet our fans’ requirements with regards to retail.

“Thanks to our great relationship with Adidas - another global leader - we have some tremendous kits and merchandise on offer to supporters and it’s important to continue to improve methods of selling these products in the most convenient and professional way.â€Â

Financial details of the deal were not released but it is believed to be a wholly revnue sharing based contract.

The new deal follows [url=http://www.sportspromedia.com/deals/_a/derby_county_receive_cash_boost_from_sponsorship_deal/]lucrative new contracts signed by Derby County this summer with the Greenbank Group and Littlewoods.

About time ! Derby must be one of a few clubs that only sell the kit in the home town.
