jezram
Is it just me, or is anyone else amazingly optimistic about next season? Forget yesterday, it was a freak, that game could have played 10 times and we would have only lost the once, but onwards and upwards. The teams coming down are not as good as they think they are, and everyone else in this division we know we can handle, so what is their to fear? HeyHudson
It all comes down to whether we can keep this squad together. Either by chucking money at them or the club convincing them that by staying they can be part of something special, we need to make sure the likes of Hughes, Bryson, Hendrick and Martin don't get their heads turned by any interest from bigger clubs. We also need to try and retain Thorne and Widsom (Bamford I can take or leave). If the squad is broken apart over the summer, we're back to square one. McClaren may well be able to find quality replacements but the team spirit and sense of togetherness has been as pivotal as the quality of football this season, and that will take time to recreate if we lose the core of this squad.
