Wraggrams got a reaction from SKRam in Mackay - Rooney
It has been an exceptional start by Rooney! His "from the front" leadership has been outstanding. Mackay brought similar class and stature to Clough's young team. Difficult to compare legacy yet, but if this continues Rooney will no doubt become a club legend like Mackay!

Thought he spoke well. Not rocking the boat, but clearly focussed on helping the  team move up the table. If he is fit to carry our team for a large % of remaining games his leadership, creativity and savvy will make us a bigger threat and hopefully propel us up the league. My one concern is not around his general fitness level but that he will be a target for rash challenges. He has coped with being such at the highest level, so let's hope we get a break and can enjoy watching a world class footballer ply his craft for the second half of the season.

We were a class apart last night without Bogle, Sibley and Buchanan to name but a few who could play. Knight was top draw. Very impressed by the 2 Browns - Jordan a left back who seamlessly stepped into midfield and Archie who terrorised Akranas down whichever flank he chose. The latter seemed to have the physical attributes to step up....

even steve nic wrote today that departures likely - think it’s probably optimistic to believe Anya has a buyer waiting 6 months before his contract ends but maybe Bennett, Forsyth, Zoon (dutch homecoming ?)
Dowell to head home, maybe even Paterson.
On the incoming - lets not get in the way of Sibley and Knights forthcoming first team places, but centre back (s) needed

If Cocu is given time I can't wait for the next 2-3 years. He is a thinking man's Clough! Clearly youth development focussed and what a potential crop of players he has in the U18s and U23s!! It really is very exciting times awaits at PP!

I think it's interesting we are considering a permanent move, because other than Buchanan I don't think we are well stocked with young centre halves.

I am most excited by Sibley too, however Lee Buchanan looks a very accomplished defender too. He has pace, good feet, can head and has a tackle on him reminiscent of my all time great Colin Todd! Whether he grows tall enough to be a first team centre half is one question, but he is very good at left back.

I do hope that Frank stays and is brave. We need a spine with more quality than Roos, Johnson, Bryson or Huddlestone. We need to retain the loanees (head says that's unlikely except for Tomori) and/or supplement the squad with similarity successful replacements. I do hope this can be done by a combination of promoting youngsters e.g. Sibley, Thomas, Bird, MacDonald et al plus some inspired loanees. I would like to see permanent signings of a goalkeeper and young centre half as priority, having already got Shinnie as DCM and future Captain.

Top performance from the u18s. They were the cultured football team. It was incisive, high press, attack minded and completely unsettled Arsenal. Very much the Lampard "identity" blueprint. Sibley was stand out, he could run frighteningly fast with the ball. Jason Knight marauded too. Morgan Whitaker and Archie Brown were fast, effective wingers who took their goals exceedingly well. None of them could of made such an impact without Max Bird mopping things up majestically as CDM. Or the tireless running of Tyree Wilson up front. Lee Buchanan was quick, strong and skilful at LB. Jordan Brown grew into the game at RB. Sam French was perhaps unsighted for their first goal but otherwise was assured. What a crop of players I so hope we can keep and nurture half a dozen into the first team squad. COYL!!
