David
Alex McLeish has lined upa £6m double raid on Derby for Kris Commons and Giles Barnes. sale £6m Birmingham boss McLeish wants to offer winger Commons, 25, a dream move to the Premier League in a £4million deal. But the Blues will have to fight off interest from Wigan. Midfielder Barnes - who has spent the last four months on loan at Fulham - will cost around £2m. Barnes, 20, has been recommended to Big Eck by Academy Manager Terry Westley, who previously held the same role at Pride Park. vicky-27
Giles Barnes is expected to return to Derby County following his loan spell with Fulham. Barnes has struggled with injury since his move to Craven Cottage and has not made a first-team appearance for Roy Hodgson’s side. He has been out with an Achilles problem and underwent minor surgery yesterday, ruling him out of the final weekend of the Premier League season. Hodgson has previously stated that a permanent move for the 20-year-old would be a risk due to his lack of action and it looks unlikely the Cottagers will follow up their interest. Barnes could still leave Derby over the summer, though, and Birmingham City have been linked with the attacking midfielder. Rams chairman of football Adam Pearson said: “It doesn’t appear that a deal for Giles with Fulham will get concluded but he has expressed a desire to play Premier League football, so we will have to see what happens.†Newly-promoted Birmingham have also been linked with a move for Derby’s Kris Commons. Why would Commons want to move to Brum ?

vicky-27
No doubt we shall find out then - I really don't think he will go anywhere, though the reds are pretty sure he will be off like a rocket - pure jealousy.
David
I have to agree with them, he showed how loyal he is by leaving Forest for Derby. I would love him to stay don't get me wrong but if they put a official offer in I think he would be asking to talk to them.

vicky-27
David really ! you are just as bad as the reds - he wasn't offered a new contract - he tried to get one and got peed of waiting - wouldn't you ?
David
No but you can see where they are coming from, if Miles Addison was at Derby for say 5 or 6 years and left to join Forest we would be banging on the same as they are. It's Forests fault for not tying him down sooner but at the end of the day you shouldn't really join your rivals after so long at a club.
vicky-27
Here is some 'gossip' of one of the Birmingham boards. Dangerous
They can have Barnes.Overrated ego maniac,Commons must stay.Derby must do whatever possible to keep him.I think that he would go to a prem club given the chance, and to be honest I wouldnt blame him.Its his job and he will get paid more and he is the only prem quality player we have.Really hope he stays though
