No chance! 1) No chance 2) I wouldn't want it Part of the overwhelming enthusiasm that these games generated was down to the 'once in a lifetime' appeal - I wouldn't want the experience of the last fortnight devalued by having it again so soon. It wasn't a bad game Alpha, Japan couldn't buy a goal though. They got very twitchy in the 2nd half, diving about for no reason in particular except to win undeserved free kicks, tho' the Japanese goalie let 2 in, he did make a couple of great saves and was let down a bit by his defenders. Bit of a stinker match for Japan overall, especially when they had a goal disallowed with about 20 minutes left. We wondered what was going off when there was a loud musical note belted over the sound system - it turned out there was a sub coming on and that's how they decided to announce it, along with 'SUBSTITUTION' in physcedelic pink on the big screen. I s'pose it had to be spectacular, to fit the occassion. Imagine that happening at PP tho? I think it would be disliked more than the guy with his ETS tyres & exhausts... With the current economic climate I doubt many countries would want or be able to afford to put it on again. Infrastructure in place already A generation inspired and the games again in 10 years to keep the interest alive If nothing else going through the bid process would keep the Olympics in the news for a few years.
