ladyram
So do I mrs. 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> The beginning bit was all about the industrial revolution and what Britain is famous for. The steam engine, cotton mills and machinery, steelworks etc.. just brilliant.
StaffsRam
Seen more pride on the faces of the athletes as they come out than we saw in 3 weeks of the Euros. Greatest sporting event on earth.
blackNwhites
Wonderfully eccentric and British.
ladyram
Favourite bits so far - the forging of the Olympic rings and the crowd cheering to our very own Bohemian Rhap. 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' /> And, I have to say, loads of top tunes which are featured in our very own classic track thread. Nice one Danny 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />

Brammie Steve
In honour of Baron de Coubertin perhaps (founder of modern olympics)? The modern Olympics started in Much Wenlock, Shropshire. Hope you're all enjoying watching it live, it's past my bedtime so I've put it on DVD and will watch it an a less unearthly hour. blackNwhites
Loads of top tunes, liked it when the crowd joined in with Blur's song 2. Was some proper good tunes on at that point.
Guest
The ceremony has been brilliant, it was wonderfully clever, heartfelt and used our best facet which is our history. Unlike Beijing where it was all fireworks with little to back it up this has substance and is beautifully British, it celebrates what we have given to the world and what we have created in this little country of ours. At 26 million it is a snip I suppose compared to what it could have cost, Beijing cost over 300 million this is far better for far less.

ladyram
Oooh, and I meant to give a mention to a few pupils from my school who are escorting one of the teams to the stadium tonight. I've asked for a full report and muchos photos when we go back in Sept. Enjoy it kids 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

David
I'd love for Ramblur to get hold of the accounts and give us a breakdown on what that £26m was spent on, forget Danny Boyle, should of got Nigel to do it for a fraction of the cost
