This was posted an hour ago. Why has no-one come on to tell us how brilliant they are and should be kept!

A bit of slacking going on now the season's finished!

( I would put lots of smilies on but mine won't work.)

Connolly is normally a midfielder although can play in a number of positions as he did in the reserves. He is very hard working and was tried out in several positions ie left back. All of the players released, with the exception of Jones, were let out on loan to much smaller clubs and you would hope they would shine in those teams, this didn't happen and it's no surprise they have been released. I wish them well for the future.

Liked the end part....He said: "We rested one or two lads and included some trialists. You could tell we had a bit of a makeshift team against Derby's more settled academy side."

Good to hear.

Anyone know when we play City in the Youth (?) cup?

Last I heard the Youth cup final will be played as a pre-season friendly at Pride Park. The date mentioned was Sat 4th August although we are due to play Colchester away the day before.

The thing is Stoke City treat the Central League as some sort of under 18s/academy league, people are always moaning about it in the local papers. It seems like we see it as the reserves league which is exactly what it is.

As it finished-

Central Division Pts

C Sheffield United 22

2 Derby County 21

3 Forest 18

4 Port Vale 15

5 Walsall 15

6 Burton Albion 13

7 Stoke City 12
