uttoxram75
Twas amazing when it first came out - truly the start of the communications revolution. Didn't have to wait for the next days papers to check results, tables etc....sad news. End of an era for some of us of a certain age 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />
ramexpat
this was a fantastic service for me as a kid , watching airwolf and a-team with the football scores in the background on ceefax , the younger generations wont appreciate this
EastKentRam
Even as a youngster i still remember having the scores flash up at the bottom of the screen whilst you watched something else. Good times.
MrsRam
MISS CEEFAX? Print webpages in a big font on a broken printer then stick the pages to tortoises doing laps of your lounge.

Ramshankered
My old man bloody loved ceefax. It's become a bit of an in-joke in the family cuz' he refuses to "upgrade" to digital.

Boycie
Yeah, and if you didn't get the phone number quick enough, you had to wait another 24 hours for the page to come around again. Oh how I used to laugh.
McRamFan
Oracle was better, then they changed it to Teletext as Ceefax was improving (well as much as it could) and ITV made more money from adverts on it which they ran at night after they shut down. trekkie_ram
Page 338, football gossip. Of course you can get this all on digital teletext (and I do), but I used the old ceefax system daily. Bamboozle was shocking (needing fasttext - lol), they had a a better game for a while 'IQ by Mensa'. Kids of today will never understand the simple joys of such technology. My 2yr old sees us on the iPad (which he uses when we aren't looking) and thinks everything should scroll with touchscreen. So he tries to do it on the TV (and my wife has told me that another child at 'baby group' tries to scroll photographs in magazines. I remember upgrading to a NICAM VHS player, and getting half a meg of RAM for the Amiga for £30. Ahh memories.
