RE praying - I don't think anyone believes praying will save Muamba, most if not all Christians don't believe in that sort of God.

But studies show that patients who are prayed for recover quicker and better. It's the effect of being cared for and knowing you're being thought about which seems to spur people on.

As Muamba wakes up and gains a sense of the support this country and beyond has given to his recovery, it's got to give him an extra sense of purpose, hasn't it?

I'd like to know the percentage of people that have said or written "Pray for Muamba" actually prayed.

I haven't said it as it wouldn't feel right when I don't have a religious bone in my body, I'd just be jumping on the Twitter trending topic "pray for..." bandwagon.

Get well soon, wish him all the best and his family, hopefully a speedy recovery and the same goes to Abidal.

The medical team at the hospital, the paramedics and the heart specialist deserve praise for what they have done so far, with or without the Big Guy's help. He can answer questions now which shows that he is at least capable of coherent thought, a major plus.

Fabrice Muamba was "in effect dead" for 78 minutes following his on-pitch collapse, Bolton Wanderers' club doctor Jonathan Tobin has revealed.

But Dr Tobin said he had been amazed by the 23-year-old's recovery so far.

In an emotional interview, Dr Tobin said: "We were fearing the worse and didn't think we'd get the recovery we had. It's incredible.

"It is still very, very early days but to see the improvements we have is a testament to everybody involved."

Jailed for that?

Ridiculous sentence, obviously just a p*ssed up idiot talking b*llocks but hardly deserves being sent to jail.

I've not posted in this thread before.

The same thing happened to my friend a couple of years ago. He was 28, fit, healthy, no health complaints; while he was at work he just dropped to the floor, his heart stopped.

As far as I know their wasn't a defibrillator kept there, but due to the fast actions of a friend there he too survived. He kept him alive until the paramedics got there.

It sounds like Fabrice's recovery is remarkably quick, although my friend was brought of of his coma after a few days, for weeks afterwards his brain was all over the place, he didn't know where he was and it was very worrying for everyone.

Happily he is now fully recovered and has the benefit of a built-in defibrillator in his chest as a bonus! 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Double-clicking that video tells a little about it.

The grief bandwagon has certainly been full with this story. It is utter madness to have all this grief for a person we have never met.It has been like Dianas death all over again, except the guy is alive. I couldnt believe there was a shrine outside the Reebok,a minutes applause etc.The lad isnt dead!!

What happened was awful and im delighted he is getting better but it isnt an isolated incident. Ive seen a bloke die of a heart attack before,I had to go to work the next day.My mate from work killed himself just before xmas last year.My colleagues and I were devastated but we all went to work the following morning. We didnt have "counselling".

Fans die of heart attacks in stadia every month,is there an outpouring of grief? No and fans are more of the club than players are.

Im sorry but I found the extensive media coverage and the pray 4 muamba shirts a bit too much really.
