No it's where they go to make football big time in America, only to fail ever more miserably than the last "star".

'Tis a tough market to crack, America. What with all your traditional sports to jockey out of the way in order to penetrate the public consciousness.

OTOH, I must admit, occasionally I wish we'd gotten football set up in a similar way to Grid Iron - masters of your own game. Each passing year just sees more and more obscure and ridiculous rule/law changes being spewed forth by Uefa/FIFA.

It is very organized and direct. Which is nice. Though it's amusing that's it's a corporation that practices socialism in the way it runs as a League.

Yeah, it'll always be a fringe in and out of spotlight type of the sport at the very best of times. Though I say that, and if you look at the demographics MLS shares a rising position in the young urban adult category(much like MMA) along with it's traditional "soccer mom" market, so who's to say in 50 years how much it could change?

Rangers and Celtic would be mid table championship teams, the rest of spl would be league 2. Scotts div's 1,2,3 would be the equivalent of the east midlands counties league, and that's not a joke.

Celtic and Rangers have, fairly regularly (I think) progressed to advanced stages in European Competitions over the last few years. Not every year, but it has happened. I don't know any teams in the Championship that have done that from memory, or that could.

They're not very good, but they'd be competitive in the bottom half of the Prem, in my opinion.

Birmingham in Europa League? Or were they knocked out same way as Tottenham?
