DannyStokie
Is 3400 "quite a way" bigger than Derby? If you mean area, again 5.7 sq miles isn't really "quite a way" bigger. So what are you trying to say in your post? I'm trying to say... i want you.

uttoxram75
Stoke-on-Trent is bigger than Derby, it's a fact. Yep, population wise SOT has over a 100,000 more than Derby. Bout same as Lester and half as many as Nottingham......they're all far bigger than poor little Derby. We just happen to have more football fans per population...................... Cisse
Ok Stokies, although I don't really like your club I have to admit that I admire the way you have gone through maintaining your place in the premier. Here is the question for you, how would you want to strenghten your team for the future if you could decide ?

The first figures are for city council areas. For example, the Notts figure you quote does not include West Bridgford and many other areas that we assume to be in Nottingham. The Derby one in your list does not include Borrowash and Ockbrook because they lie outside the City council area. They are in reality, part of the population that the local football club draws its support from. Another anomaly is Newcastle upon Tyne, a small city population but a true urban population of over 800,000! The City boundaries are lines drawn on a map for Local government reasons, sometimes through estates or areas that locals count as the same place! We were responding to the fact that Stoke was much bigger than Derby and if you look at the city figures it is only slightly bigger so it depends on what stats are used lol. Enjoy today, I guess it means alot for you.
