didn't even need to read the thread to realise it was a B4 special. (not from the chinese either) B4, mate seriously.. You may have dyslexia but are you blind too?! Anybody can see teams such as Southampton, West Ham, Leicester, Middlesboro all have better squads than our's and have the ability to spend more than us too, we are by no means the worst team in the division by a long shot, neither are we near the best! We might sneak the play offs, top half of the table and everybody bar yourself shall be happy with the season and what it will develop for next season, but no way will we win it.. Please please please please calm yourself down on what you think will happen with us 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' /> somebody get him the opposite of an ecstacy pill to calm his mind!

sorry, i think i've come down with some mentle issues since i don't think we'll smash this league and win every game 3-0 as a minimum otherwise we don't pay our players... 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' />

your a bit negative thinking, i mean come on 3-0 every game? pesimist....you can clearly see it should be 5 or 6-0 each game and that's with our players blindfolded 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

i think you should see a psychiatrist 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' />

edit: though being serious i can see if definately beating coventry and then maybe a draw at burnely?

top half finish, maybe just about finish the playoffs

anywhere from 7th down to 14th will do for me as I have said all along. To get in the playoffs and then lose could be a terrible knock to the confidence of our young players and may hangover into next season. If the miracle repeated itself and we got promoted with a sub-standard team again we would be heading for humiliation again. Lets keep it going but finish outside the playoffs and start again next season with a more experienced side and a few addtions and see where it takes us..

I can't believe this ridiculous talk of the play offs or promotion.

Get real !!

We were lucky to beat West Ham. They had the better chances and could have easily come away with a win.

We really pushed our luck against Leeds and again, the result could have been very different.

Hull dominated the first half but again, we held out.

Thats's 9 points that could quite easily have been 0.

Yes, it's great to be in the top half but that is as good as it will get and the DCFC management knows this. Clough doesn't really think we are a play off contender side and neither does Glick.

The owners must be reading this laughing all the way to the bank. Shame they can't start selling next years season tickets now as there would be a queue.

A few weeks ago you lot were on here saying how rubbish we were and that we are in a relegation scrap. Doesn't take a deal to turn your shallow minds does it.

When you you get it into your heads that we are no better than a lower mid table side. We have a very average with 2 half decent centre halves. Any of our players will be the first to get the hell out of DCFC should a club with a modicum of ambition come in for them.

That's it then campers - mc reckons we should pack it in as a bad job. 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' />

mc - can your crystal ball give me the lotto numbers for next week? 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

C'mon ladyram. You can see where I'm coming from 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

To suggest that our squad has a chance of the top six is delusional in the highest degree despite the fact that the Championship is very, very weak this season.

I can to a point, but then think why can't we get to top 6? The team are capable of playing some great football and when that happens and the points begin to come our way, it's hard not to feel a bit more optimism - tho you'd call it being delusional 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' /> .

I don't think B4 is delusional, he's just a natural optimist, like me. People's opinions and general outlooks are a bit different, tis all.

At the end of the day, no-one knows what will happen. Look how far Norwich have gone - who knew eh?

Its not delusional, given two or three additions to key areas we would have a squad as well as a team capable in finishing in the top 6, when we have a fit first 11 we can beat anyone on our day, when injuries strike we struggle as lack of depth.

Not quite sure why anyone wouldnt want us getting us promoted, seems like a pointless thing if you are happy to finish below 6th in what is a poor league, our worst team in history will not be beat, and look at Blackpool who even though they came down would Im sure still take the 2 seasons they had again, not to forget the money.

I think derby can win there next four games and go top of the league, but still a tall order through but i think winning leeds, west ham, and hull city was a really turning point in our season, and great thing is if we win against coverty i think west ham and southamption will start to panic. I think if derby do go on top of the league i think we might be able to stay there, but now we Have stoke city in the next round of the FA cup and if we can beat them they will singal how far we have come as a team, in a really short space of time, and it would certiney get people talking that for sure. what i would like to happen is this we beat the scum and take over southampton at the top and going running away with it for rest of the season.

anyways back to stoke city next round of the Fa cup, this is what i would do, i would start with callum ball from the start and use masion bennet and ask him to take on royal delap, use his pace against him and make it really hard to use those long throw ins. and use jamie ward as a free role letting drift around a free man letting make this happen. i would then do this if paul green is still around by then i would put him with jeff hendrik or byson partner him in the middle and use james bailey on the wing. and keep the same back four.

and try and keep the same team for this saturday.

Bloody hope so mate.

We weren't very good on Saturday but got a result - usually a good sign.

Not sure about winning the league of even getting in the play offs but I think we've got every right to expect us to maintain this position for the rest of the season, providing we keep a relatively clean bill of health.

I don't think B4

Really? You would hand on heart say that we are capable of great football?

By the same token, Macclesfield Town are capable, as are Southend as are Barnsley.

We really have gone to the very low depths if fans think we are capable of playing great football. Derby haven't played any great football for a good few years.

I think the team have had it's moments so far this season, yes. A lot of the time this hasn't been consistent enough, granted - but the teamwork and ethics have been and are there.

This league may be poor on the whole but the PO places could go to any team who's prepared to scrap for one. Why not us?

I don't understand this obsession that fans have with the play offs. I don't agree with them. The league positions at the end of the season are an accurate reflection of how good your team is. Why a team finishing 6th should be deserving of playing in a higher league is crazy.

I would introduce a system whereby the 3rd placed team in the Championship played the 18th team in the Premiership in a one off Wembley game for 1 place in the Premiership.

But there isnt such a game, hence the obession with the play offs

They obviously have their faults such as a team finishing 6th being able to get promotion, but on the plus side they keep the season alive longer for more teams and bring extra revenue into the game. My own view is that despite the faults it makes for a more exciting league.

Whilst I think B4's ambition is a tad optimistic, logic dictates that we should have a chance of the play offs.If we can keep players fit, then our squad will be better than that we could avail of in the first half of the season.Logic would suggest that we should therefore perform better in the second half, which might be enough to get us into the play offs.Unfortunately, logic doesn't win football matches.
