Getting a bit of stick lately.

Don't really understand why. Who passes better? Who is as composed? The guy is a bit weak in the tackle but not through any lack of effort. Against Leeds and WHU he showed a lot more strength.

His only rival in terms of attributes is Hendrick.

I think he get some stick for not doing things he isn't made for. Years ago he'd be called a CM... But modern football tends to feature very specific specialists as we all know. Bailey is very much a DM. His occasional precise throughballs are wonderful, but its not really in his role to create attacks. It's to feed people like Ward/Bavies.

Rams fans were frustrated at one point because we weren't very inventive. People were annoyed with Bailey for passing sideways etc. But he was finding Derby shirts. It's not his fault if the tactics or his teammates expose his attacking flaws. That doesn't make him a poor player.

He's a class act IMO. Put the right players around him, don't ask him to be a main source of attack and he'll be an absolute star. He will keep you ticking over and his odd throughball will change defence to attack.

Love the guy. Him and Hendrick.

Not sure about being very much a DM- especially as he is bit lightweight in the tackle. That said he is an important team player and one reason we do better with him around is because we keep the ball better as he doesn't just keep smashing the ball up field

I must be alone thinking he is a good tackler then, out of our centre mids I'd say only Green puts his self about more and wins mote tackles. Yesterday Bails broke their attacks up superbly even if we were sat a bit deep, his distribution is top class normally although second half it was all a bit panick stations and hit n hope from him along with everyone else.

Good player, need someone a bit more creative in with him although I can't say either Green/Hendrick/Bryson are bad players, just all too similair.

Bailey for me is the only one who tries and spreads the play, where as bryson just tries the simple, which is good to have the mix of two, im a big fan of bailey

Good player who's getting better and becoming very important to us. Played really well yesterday. Always seemed to be in the right place to break up play. Not a coincidence that our best spells are when he is fit and in the team.

You're right. How much did he cost? Not very much. I rate him. As has been said earlier - he often finds one of our players. Sounds simple but a pity some of the muppets we've had here in the past on big wages couldn't do it often enough.

He's changed his play a lot since his days at Crewe, id say it's is down to Cloughie pushing him to get involved more.

At Crewe he'd put a good pass in, then back off and flick his hair like he was singing Madonna in the mirror. A lot of their fans thought he was a bit of a cocky ****, but maybe it was a bit of big fish small pond?

He's certainly not like that now, I think he's a crackin' player and glad he's at Derby.

They were probably bald or balding like me, jealousy really as I'd love to flick my hair like they do on those adverts as well

I think that he and Brayford cost a combined 900k- we would struggle to replace one of them for that now. Good business Cloughie! Just goes to show as Crewe fans were bemused when we showed interest in him and none of them seemed to rate him or give him the chance of stepping up.....Wrong!

Bailey's passing has been absolutely sublime the past two home games. The only way you couldn't have noticed that is if you didn't have eyes.

remember when ward hit the post in the leeds game? - check out the first time pass to him...

Him, Henrick and Bryson, on their day, are absolutely spectacular. Hendrick and Bryson in-particular were great against Pompey at home.

We do need more presence in midfield, so Clough, wether in this transfer window or over the summer, will address that. for now JC (and no that means Just Chill. It does not stand for Jesus Christ/Shaun Barker)
