Shake n Bake
Its like white people are PGs so what they say is restricted to only things that won't cause any offence what so ever. Everyone else is an 18+ so there are no restrictions to what they can say.
Duracell
They have a Martin Luther King foundation in America, helping to fund education for black, disadvantaged adolescents. Great cause, but Christ, imagine a UK equivalent helping out White kids.. There'd be an uproar! That's not the same thing, you surely must realise why. Fair enough if you don't know your American history, but all the same...

Of course, I'm not that daft. Just putting things into context a bit. I'm very anti-racist, just so you know. Even for gingers.
Duracell
About Hansen, you'd have to have one braincell to think he was racist. I hate this country at some times - they ignored everything which he was saying. He couldn't have made it more clear that racism was wrong. I don't think "coloured" has ever been used with malice. Ok, there might be better words out there to describe black people, but it's nothing to be shot down for. My granny used to use all sorts of words to described black people that would be frowned apon today; she was, however, a grand admirer of Carribean culture, never once complained about immigration and always went to the extra mile to make immigrants feel welcome. She was not a racist woman. We're losing sight over what racism is, and what racism isn't. The result won't be a pleasant one.
Duracell
Of course, I'm not that daft. Just putting things into context a bit. I'm very anti-racist, just so you know. Even for gingers. Well I'm saying, that's not even remotely putting it into context. White people in the UK don't get lynched, we haven't ever earned 4 times less than other ethnic groups, we don't suffer from insitutional racism in the education system and we're not 5 times more likely to end up in jail. If you want to make a UK comparison, it would be a charity working for the education of gypsies. And gingers? Don't even get me started on gingers. Surely the most violated, abused and marganlised of society. I can't get a job because of my colour.

I'm just saying that the thing in America in itself, is discrimination of sorts.

It would be discrimination if white people weren't allowed to work for it, but for a charity to aim at doing one specific thing? Don't all charities specialise? You could start saying Children in Need was age discrimination, or that Shelter discriminated against people that weren't homeless.

Well that's a bit different. The fact that the foundation isn't for disadvantaged youths, but rather black, disadvantaged youths is my main qualm. Duracell
Christ, are you Wesley Snipes? No, not really. The fact that the foundation isn't for disadvantaged youths, but rather black, disadvantaged youths is my main qualm. Black people's disadvantages are often of a very different nature to a white person's disadvantage in America. My main qualm with your post is that I don't see what's wrong with a charity aiming to eridicate a massive issue in society. Go to Yale, and barely any students are black. The nation will soon have a larger black population than white population. Something isn't right there, and I think it's good charities are doing something to put that right. I don't see what's wrong with it. Sorry be in such a dicky, argumentative mood. I'm hungry.

ladyram
Hanson racist? No chance at all. I've used the word "coloured" before, I thought that was acceptable! Friggin ell, you daren't say owt where skin colour is concerned. Incidentally, a vending machine I saw the other week (cos of my need for coffee) stated that you couldn't have it black, it had to be "without milk". What's that about? Coffee with no milk is black because of what colour it is. Nowt to do with racism! It's just a colour.

Its not about the presents mate, just serenade her and write an I.O.U for some jewellery or a trip to Paris or something.

Alternatively, there may be someone looking at the machine who is unsure of the difference between white coffee and black coffee, so they put "with milk" or "without milk" for clarity. Just a thought.
