Fowkesy
I really don't know how anyone can criticise a suicide without knowing the facts.I have less repect for you, than you have for him. R.I.P Gary Speed.
lyndsey
RIP Speedo, thoughts with his family and friends Not the time to critcise the events around his death all hearsay and whispers. too easy for people to sit back and cast judgement. Leeds Ram
I think whether suicide is selfish is different to paying our respects to gary speed, can't we just pay our respects through messages, without passing judgement on how this mans life ended. Day
Turned on during the minutes applause then went for a shower, come down the missus said it was for Gary Speed...think my jaw literally dropped, watched him yesterday on Football Focus, didn't look like a man on the edge. Butthead
me too don't understand what an MBE has to do with such a tragic death at only 42 years old
Butthead
it's the idealism of youth, but YR is right in one respect that there is a time and a place for such negativity and it's not within hours of someone's death

ladyram
Very sad news, RIP Gary. Thoughts to his family. It just shows, you can appear fine and dandy on telly and such but obviously he was hiding inner turmoil of some kind.
Pearl Ram
I'm stunned, poor fella must have been in quite a turmoil and as someone who lost a parent in a similar way my thoughts are with his boys, I've never got over the feeling of not being quite good or special enough to make my parent want to live to see what I made of my life. StaffsRam
Listened to Five Live earlier in the car - Robbie sounded absolutely devastated. Deano (Saunders) didn't sound much better. The circumstances around his death - irrelevant for me. Football's lost a great ambassador for the sport, and beyond that just a top bloke by the sounds of it.
