Thanks ladyram always felt at home in Derbyshire despite being a Staffordshire lad. Im also pretty sure it beats most of the country hands down, just something about it. No children yet but couldn't think of a better place to bring em up, anywhere's gotta be better than Stoke on Trent. I need to have a look on the other side of Derby, we haven't quite made it to Ilkeston yet.

Got a feeling we went through it one day this summer, think there was a village fate on or something? Looks like a really nice place to live, good community and all that. To be honest we haven't even thought or looked at schools! (don't fancy mentioning it either as it might lead to other questions!) Thanks mate.

Don't think ill be venturing that high up to be honest Cumbrian!

you might have done, we do have a village fate one day every year usually july.

I must admit, I never read the last 2 pages until now, I thought YR was just Arguing about old John Flamstead teachers. Hence the off topic remark. ( i went to Flammey and my lads going next year)

Now I have read it, I feel a bit foolish.

Both my kids have statements at school, and know how hard they are to get.

Sorry for my, what may have come across as, insensitive remarks. Sorry.

I know about YR's problems, we have PM'd about it, I may pull his leg, but I think he's quite a brilliant lad really.

Anyway, enough man love, He'll be getting idea's. Time for me to Man Up.

awww thanks boycie, that brought a smile to my face 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' /> don't worry i have no ideas about "man love" 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' /> it's good we can all have a joke on here because it feels more like a community, rather than other forums where it seems more coincidental. 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> Flammy is a great school Boycie and i'm sure your kid will love it 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />. I know how difficult it is to get statemented and I think it should be so much easier for the parents to receive support for this difficult process. 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> And Boycie, what would this forum be without you? 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' /> not the same 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

We can`t even get a statement even though Great Ormond Street says he needs one, really is lack of funding/cutbacks etc.

I've been trying for over a year to get one of my kids who i'm the case worker to get statemented even with his parental responsibilty being the local authority i still cant get anywhere lack of funding (all i hear every bloody day). boils my **** as they have money to mess about with pre packed lunchtime meals and crap that is not needed then flag a child up years later stating they have been let down by not getting the statement earlier.

Wish you the best of luck

Wasn't you in full Derby kit, hat and flag, dancing in the carnival was it? 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':P' />

Surely if you're moving from stoke then pretty much anywhere is going to be an improvement......

Fooking sh1thole.

Feel sorry for the staffordshire moorlands. Deserves better than being blighted by that pretend city.

Your not wrong, please send sympathies to ST5... To be honest some of the Staffordshire Moorlands is just as stunning, if a little bleak! I sometimes have to go all over North Staffordshire when were short on numbers, even up to Longnor! Where about's are you mate? If you don't mind me asking.

Its got to be Utcheter then PD 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Half way between Joke-on-Trent and Derby...On the border of Staffs/Derbys...and we might be able to squeeze you in the minibus from the Black Swan...... 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />

20mins into Derby on the A50.

If you're posh it'd have to be Doveridge or Sudbury...

Now then, Uttoxeter throws a spanner every time it's mentioned. It was where I wanted to go initially because I could still work from Newcastle, and Miss could still go and see her greasy oatcake eating stokie family 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ph34r' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> I suppose I could put up with ST14?

I could probably make more games aswell, saying that i did get from PP to Stoke in half an hour after Cardiff, and no I don't leave early before anyone asks! It's looking quite likely at the moment, its a nice old town anyway which is pretty rare these days. And a good station for the odd away game.

Thanks Uttox I might call in the Black Swan when im next up that way.

Frogg the only problem is them type of places are too nice if you know what I mean? Yeah id like to ger up, open the curtains and see that everyday, but then you've got every man and his dog coming up every time the suns out! Which I suppose is exactly what I do now!

I'm abit of a recluse you see and it's never a good thing 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

That's a gorgeous place Froggg - I bet it looks like Wonderland when the snows down. That's what I love about the countryside, it's fab at any time of year isn't it?

We're at Biddulph Moor mate. Love it there. You can literally see about 50 miles out across Jodrell Bank, and then nearly as far the other way. Gothic weather at times though, particularly in the winter - there's no way out of Biddulph Moor that doesn't involve a hugely steep hill-drive. Trying to navigate Rudyard bank in the snow is something akin to that bit in the first Lord of the Rings movie when they're trying to scale that big fook off mountain in the snow!

yes its dovedale uttox...love that place

The Dovedale Dash? Perhaps Watson. Perhaps. But look more closely. Isn’t that the picture usually taken by the infirm, the elderly and the seriously unfit - just past the ice cream van and a three minute amble from the car park?
