Anderson out for 2/3 months

RUSSELL Anderson is facing two to three months out with a torn hamstring.

The experienced defender was injured during the first half of Derby County's home defeat by Cardiff City on Wednesday.

"Russell has done his hamstring and it's quite a serious one. We think it will be in excess of two months," said manager Nigel Clough.

"It's such bad luck for him and he has had a rough time with injuries.

"This injury came on the back of his best game at rightback against Portsmouth last Saturday when he was very steady."

Anderson has been filling in at right-back for the injured John Brayford, who is expected to be fit when Derby face Hull City after the two-week international break.

Jake Buxton, a central defender like Anderson, came off the bench against Cardiff and played at right-back and he could continue there against Peterborough United at London Road today.

Lee Croft has played at right-back a couple of times this season but he is out with an ankle injury picked up in training at the start of the week.

Mark O'Brien could return to the centre of the defence after a shoulder injury forced him to miss the Cardiff game.

He was due to train yesterday afternoon and travel with the squad.

"Mark had the injection in his shoulder and it has taken a couple of days to settle down," said Clough.

O'Brien has partnered Jason Shackell in all but one of the Rams fixtures this season.

Striker Theo Robinson could also hand Derby a timely boost.

He missed the Cardiff defeat with a strained hamstring but is in the squad to face Peterborough.

Fingers crossed we'll be seriously considering the loan market for a right back (unless Nige has intentions of playing Barker there until Brayford returns / assuming Barker is back shortly after the international break).

Clough may of known about this yesterday when talking to Radio Derby, get ready for a 13 year old to step up.

I opened my front door earlier to a bunch of hyper kids. They started screaming:

''Trick or treat, trick or treat, give us something good to eat; if you don't we don't care, we'll pull down your underwear!''

...as I slowly put the sweets back in my pocket.

Or slip some drugs in his dinner and stash cocaine in his locker then sack him, then claim compensation

Or, big insurance policy and have him whacked.

May I apologise for the posts of the above admin and moderator. They are not advocating drugging Mr Anderson, or in fact having him assassinated.

I can only assume it was an attempt at humour.

Sorry again.
