Dickinson set to join Leeds

Derby County expect Liam Dickinson to join Leeds United on loan when the transfer market reopens next week.

Dickinson had been lined up for a move to Elland Road for the rest of the season on deadline day, only for the paperwork to be submitted to the Football League 14 minutes after the 5pm cut-off.

However, Rams chairman Adam Pearson sees no reason why the striker will not link up with the League One promotion hopefuls after the weekend.

"I'm sure it will get sorted out," Pearson told the Yorkshire Evening Post. "We'd expect him to go there when the loan market opens."

Meanwhile, Leeds' chief executive Shaun Harvey has expressed his disappointment that the Football League were not flexible in allowing the move to go through on Monday.

Harvey told the club's official website: "It is disappointing that the Football League stuck rigidly to the 5pm deadline when you take into account the exceptional circumstances that prevailed.

"The Premier League made arrangements for their clubs to register players after the deadline and if the Football League had adopted the same approach then Liam Dickinson would be a Leeds player until the end of the season."

Dickinson has yet to make his debut for Derby since joining from Stockport County last summer, but has enjoyed loan spells at Huddersfield and Blackpool.

Whites boss Simon Grayson signed the 23-year-old while still in charge at Blackpool and the forward scored four goals in seven appearances.

To be honest I'm sick of hearing about this guy now, he's obviously not in the clubs plans, so lets sell him now instead of keep loaning the guy out.

Dickinson set to seal Leeds move

Derby County striker Liam Dickinson is poised to join Leeds United on loan for the rest of the season.

Dickinson, 23, almost moved to Elland Road before the transfer window closed but the deal was not completed in time.

Rams boss Nigel Clough told BBC Radio Derby: "He can go for a maximum of 93 days and I think Leeds want him for the play-off final should they reach it.

"Working back from there I think he can start on 21 February so it should all get sorted this week."

Dickinson was signed by former Derby manager Paul Jewell for £750,000 in July but was loaned out to Huddersfield at the start of the season.

The former Stockport forward has also spent time on loan at Blackpool but has failed to work his way into the reckoning under Clough.

Liam completes leeds loan

Striker Liam Dickinson has headed out on loan to Leeds United for a loan deal that runs until the end of the season.

The 23-year-old arrived at Derby last summer after three successful seasons with Stockport County.

But he is yet to make his debut for the Rams and spent most of the first half of the season on loan with Huddersfield Town and Blackpool, scoring a total of ten goals in 20 games.

Dickinson's loan is scheduled to run until May 2 but it will be automatically extended should Leeds reach the League 1 play-offs.
