West Ham have confirmed that David Bentley is set to be sidelined for up to six months after undergoing knee surgery.

Skysports.com revealed earlier on Wednesday that the on-loan winger was facing up to a lengthy spell on the treatment table.

Not that I take pleasure in seeing players out injured but Bentley v Roberts or Kilbane on TV would of been embarrassing.

They may have the players at West Ham but players like Bentley with Allardyce in charge will not be used properly. They tend not to use the wing players unless it comes to them by mistake. However he has a wicked shot and free kick so does sound good on that part.

The injury is probably due to him not playing for such a long time as he was a reserve player at tottenham. Playing each week for West Ham his body not used to it.

I wish him well and speedy recovery.

Be funny if they can't send him back to Spurs.
