i don't think so matey what nigel has proven he has an eye for up and coming talent, just because he was released by fulham does not make him a bad player just as loads of young players are released just means he is not wanted by them. but i think if we sign him maybe he could jeff hendrik a hand in a year or so time.

I was being slightly facetious mate, but you're entirely right in what you say. I think we've signed enough lesser-known players that have proved cracking signings to suggest that either Nige or some member of his backroom squad have enough transfer nouse to recognise what makes a decent player, as such, if we go for this lad, I will trust in their wisdom. In addition, creativity (if that's what he is) is something that one can never have too much of.

Compare and contrast Nigel's knowledge of the lower leagues and the players there within against McClaren's knowledge of the same leagues and players. Consequently Clough's known to buy in Brayford, Bailey, Ben Davies etc, whereas McClaren's had to bring in cast-offs like Reid, Greening and Boateng because he hasn't got a clue about any players that he can afford from the lower leagues.

Forest appear to be a fooking shambles top to bottom. Seriously did no one at the club think to have the 'transfers/funds' discussion with McClaren before he arrived at the club? He clearly came in expecting one thing and is then faced with a completely different reality where he's not going to be able to spend his way out of trouble. McClaren's the wrong man for that job which a blind man with a sack over his head could have told you beforehand.

Found a few bits about him.

http://www.givemefootball.com/player-profiles/matthew-saunders

Matthew Saunders is a central midfielder who played for Fulham F.C.

An elegant, creative and hard-working midfielder, Saunders also has a great engine to get from box to box.

During the 09/10 season he was on the bench for 4 of Fulham's 6 Europa League group games and for all of the qualifying games. In January 2010, Matthew joined Lincoln City F.C. on a very successful loan spell. A regular for Fulham's 2nd string and captained them during the 10/11 season.

comments from some Lincoln fans about him during his loan there....

Saunders at only twenty has been a breath of fresh air at Sincil Bank showing skills, tenacity and an ability to learn and think on his feet. In just 8 appearances he has imposed his presence and shown some silky skills including a trademark chip that Tiger Woods wood be proud of.

one of his 3 goals there was a 35 yarder, ....

The agrievement felt by Hereford was made even more as Saunders picked up the ball in midfield. He remained unchallenged so tried his luck 35 yards out. The ball appeared to be going well over before late dipping saw it go in just below the crossbar. It was the furthest out that a City player has scored at Sincil Bank since a 40 yard effort by Peter Gain against Rushden in November 2002.

Stimacked, any news about Kealan Dillon and Kane Richards?

Dillon was removed from 'academy profiles - Second Scholars'. Was he released?

I thought he is a good prospect? Capped by youth Irish teams.

And what's wrong with Richards? Is he injured? Wasn't mentioned for a long time.

Seems certain that Dillon was let go yes. He was a Rams player up till the end of August, cos he was listed as a Derby player when called up to the Ireland U17's. Must of done something silly and got booted. Would guess that Wassall and co are looking to give the likes of Mason Bennett, still 2 seasons away from being a first year scholar, and some of the other U17 scholars and so more playing time and Dillon. was not seen as making enough progress to warrent keeping on, in their eyes, maybe. Would expect Kane Richards is out injured.

Think NC et al should bring more of this type in, remember - you never win anything with kids, do you Mr Hansen?

Sorry lads, "maybe" ? you were right to ask the question ? He did nothing silly and certainly did not get the boot, he was called in to the irish u19 squad @ 17 years old and yet he was not getting any game time, why you ask ?? i say ask the coach ?? and although he had 2 years to run on contract he asked to be released for the sake of his football future. Since then he received servel offers from clubs who were looking for him when he chose Derby, he went to Slovina with the irish team came back went to hull on trial they were impressed signed him up ( not for the youths ) and he has played 3 full reserve games and scored in one. Derby's loss seems to be Hulls gain. Just setting the records straight, no need to sully the lads character.
