David
Derby County striker Nathan Tyson will sit out the Rams' next two matches in a bid to return to full fitness after the October international break. As a precautionary measure after a five-week lay-off with a groin problem the 29-year-old was not part of the Rams squad for today's 3-0 home win over Millwall. Manager Nigel Clough has confirmed Tyson, who made his debut in last Saturday's win at Nottingham Forest as a substitute, will not feature in the upcoming games against Barnsley (27th September) and Leicester City (1st October). He told dcfc.co.uk: "The important thing is to get Nathan right for the season and not to rush him. "We feel he is going to have a big part to play in our campaign and at the moment the injury is causing him, and us, a fair bit of frustration. "We think the best thing is to get him fully right, and that's what we're going to do over the next couple of weeks." It is hoped Tyson will return to the Rams squad for the home game with Southampton on Saturday 15th October, after the second international break of the season. http://www.dcfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10270~2461238,00.html Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/7577-tyson-to-sit-out-the-next-two/ Share on other sites
McRamFan
Very sensible, there is no need to rush him back and even though NT must be / should be chomping at the bit to play, sooner have a fully fit player rather than 90% at this stage and our current position. Would maybe different if it was a SB last season. Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/7577-tyson-to-sit-out-the-next-two/#findComment-207418 Share on other sites
ram2767
To be honest I'm glad. Nige sais that everybody has to fight for their place but I'm under the impression Tyson doesn't. As soon as Tyson's fit he seems to automatically get the squad. Maybe thats based on training but who knows? ram2767
Surely that's only happened the once? Yeah 1/1. Maguire wasn't even on the bench and Callum Ball hasen't even been mentioned. But no I'm not saying that Tyson will get into he squad, I'm just saying I think he will. It was something brought up by a caller on BBC Radio Derby last night after the match so its not just me. Maybe thats based on training but who knows? i think clough hasnt properly given tyson a full chance yet, theo's pretty much the same player as tyson just not as quick or as experienced so naturally he's going to play tyson instead of Theo. Tyson's also probably a better finisher which is what Theo isnt that good at Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/7577-tyson-to-sit-out-the-next-two/#findComment-207733 Share on other sites
