David
Is he duff? Can't Clough communicate with him due to his heavy Scottish accent? Is he struggling to settle? Did his welcome party get out of hand? Maybe Clough thought Dave Martin needed a play mate? Is he Injured? Not working hard enough on the training ground? We chased him for long enough in the summer and he's only been given 2 late sub appearances then dropped for the Forest game with no explaination on the Official site. Also with Tyson back fit and Cwyka being given another chance where does this leave Wee Maguire? RIMBAUD
From the bit i saw of him in the cup game he looked alright. It would seem that Cywka has moved ahead of him in the pecking order. We do seem to have quite a few attacking midfield options. Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/7536-chris-maguire/#findComment-206015 Share on other sites
NothernRam
It must be his annoying tongue. It's always out of his mouth. Always. I just can't stand it. Looks like Nigel isn't fan of it too. Also with Tyson back fit and Cwyka being given another chance where does this leave Wee Maguire? Probably due to us only being able to name 5 subs. Cwyka was brought in for a specific job as was Robinson. Maguire is just going to have to train hard and wait for an injury / loss of form for his chance, it is then up to him whether he performs at a high enough level to remain in the side. On the odd occasion that I have seen him play he has looked decent. Isn't this what we wanted - options? Duracell
Not sure Maguire's done much wrong, just he's got 2 or 3 people who play in his position doing more right. Why would we take Ward, Ben Davies or Bryson out of the side for no good reason? David
Not saying anyone should be dropped now, but we chased him all summer and brought him in and Ben Davies and Lee Croft who were both pretty much out the picture last season have come in. The Forest game Cwyka who has been sat on the naughty step for 6 months comes in and starts behind the main striker, S Davies carrying a knock is on the bench yet no mention of why no Maguire on the official site. Bris Vegas
What's his position? Probably the plausable reason is NC wanted cover for a specific role in the famous 4-1-3-2 formation (jeeze that was cack) and with the intro of Hendrick, this has now changed to a varied 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 with Hendrick, Bryson, Bailey and B.Davies in our central positions..(I can also expect Anderson to play there too) With Green to comeback he'll be another one in there.. So where does this leave Maguire? If he's a winger he has to nudge out Ward, Cywka, Croft, Tyson, Robinson who are all ahead of him in those positions.. I don't think he's a striker, and if he is, S.Davies, Robinson, Tyson will surely be favoured? Like D.Martin.. I think Maguire has been bought in with a formation in mind, yet now that's changed, he either has to adapt to a new position or he'll get frozen out and he'll probably go out on loan.. I just don't see where he's going to come in. Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/7536-chris-maguire/#findComment-206094 Share on other sites
Alph
Maguire is just going to have to bide his time. With the switch to 4231- I think the original plan was the play him off Tyson/Davies in our original 4132. But with croft struggling to create I think Nigel will be looking to maguire and cywka to battle it out to be the ones to provide those ideas in games where we expect to be on top or when we need to come out and play like forest. We all know there's a lot of games. Maguire will be much better to fall back on than pearson and pringle. Saves us loaning too Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/7536-chris-maguire/#findComment-206098 Share on other sites
RIMBAUD
imo Croft is the most vulnerable of those ahead of him. Clough seems to be rewarding those who have worked hard in training or played well in reserve games. And that is tough to argue with. Alph
I think cywka may of jumped ahead of maguire on Saturday because he was part of that 5-2 defeat. Knows what the games are like Got a chance to put it right. Dunno, but maybe? Maguire has had the nod in the other games.
