Derby County manager Nigel Clough is open to offers for Dean Leacock and Stephen Pearson as he tries to finance a deal for Leicester striker Martyn Waghorn.

Leicester will use the £3m fee to improve their offer for Bristol City's Nicky Maynard, returning for a fourth time with a fee that will rise to £6.5m including add-ons.

£3m fee? Bit much.......£1.75m plus £500k in add-ons would seem fair, but no more than that.

Having said that, the market is so inflated at the moment, £3m doesn't seem that unreasonable. Which is a crazy thought for the future, if prices continue to go up.

I don't see us even considering touching that sort of valuation and if we did I think I would be disappointed, obviously a centre midfielder is needed more IMO and where would we just pull 3million out our rear ends from? I know we are more than likely waiting on the 3 mentioned to leave because of wages but I still doubt it would allow us to spend 3million on someone as disproven as he is, 1.5million would be my absolute maximum and that is due to his potential.

He cost them more than double that when he first signed, he's a very talented player. Definitely worth around £2m, though i'd be looking at paying just under it and throwing in some promotion based add-ons.

Aye, but considering that he hasn't proven anything and we go out and spend 3million on him then Clough is putting his head on the line for someone who may not even cut it.

and the fact you could probably have your pick of championship centre midfielders with that sort of dough which is a much more needed area then I would be disappointed, if we had 3million then I would seriously look at Karacan, Cohen, Howson..etc a top centre midfielder in this division, would be much better use.

Leicester trying to recoup what they spent.

£6.5m for Maynard, warraloadabollox.

In fairness, it is the mail, odds are it is indeed bullsh1t. And a fiver says there is an article three pages back saying that muslims cause cancer.

I reeeeeeally hate that paper.

What?! Waghorn will cost us 3 million pounds??!! I'm not spending 3 million on Leicester's reserve!

Do you think Blackburn where complaining when they got Roque Santa Cruz back? He was in the Man City reserves....

Saying he's a "Leicester reserve" is harsh - Leicester are spending literally tens of millions on their team and there are some incredibly talented players sitting around doing nothing.

He scored 12 goals in 28 starts the season before last, he'll cut it just fine.

Do we really need a centre mid in comparison with a striker? I wouldn't say either space is more important than the other at the moment. Odds are that as soon as Addison comes back he'll be there anyway.

I say get him while you can, young talent at Derby is always welcome, especially when they're as promising as Waghorn. Might not get another oppurtunity like this for a little while.

I wouldn't mind it if it is something much more realistic like 1 million max. But 3 million! For someone who's not exactly prolific! And unable to get into their first team!

It makes for depressing reading, pretty sure they incite fear into society.

Are Derby going to get '£3mill' for Pearson and Leacock?

I'd be suprised if we got £750k for the both of them, but then again we reportedly bid around £1.25m previously so just get a decent bit in for them and then stick add-on clauses to spruce up the fee a little.
