Guest
i would still love to see cywka coming on with ward off and davies on the left, still think cywka brings something different / creative Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/7296-cywka/ Share on other sites
StaffsRam
I'm sure he'll get his chance. Nice to know that we have someone as talented as Cywka waiting to come in if needed. Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/7296-cywka/#findComment-198388 Share on other sites
David
Can't change a winning formula, what message would that send out to the lads who have won every game. Cwyka will get his chance as we will pick up injuries at some point. Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/7296-cywka/#findComment-198390 Share on other sites
ramesses
From the post match interview with Clough on RD it sounded as if Ward's hamstrings are generally a bit (err) sensitive - so I'd have thought Cywka would get plenty of games over the course of the season. Ram@Lincoln
As I said in a previous Cywka thread, he is still feeling the effects from when he got injured against Barnsley at home last season (March time I think). He knew it was a serious injury but one he could just about play on similar to Barker. Towards the end of the season it proved to difficult for him, he worked hard over the summer and played all the games to get strength back into his knee. He is technically fit and has the match sharpness back but it's a thing of rebuilding the knee strength etc and anyway, why change a winning side!!! Leeds Ram
if ward has problems with his hamstrings then cywka can come in, better than croft for me, but why change a winning formula? we are playing well no need to change it at the moment. Better attacking than croft maybe. But it seems to me the midfield are playing a hit mire freely by having a solid back four. Croft tracks back and helps the defence more than Cywka. Makes us more solid at the back and gives the midfield more confidence to try stuff. I know croft tries hard and tracks back but going forward he gives us very little. davenportram
It's not always east to coach something that seems alien to the player. Cywkas first thought is to go forward and he is very attack minded. That was why he did so well on the good run last season when we didn't need to track back as much. He might be better being used as cover for Bryson who seems to be taking a very advanced and attacking role with a bit of freedom to move around a lot. nfb
For his own reasons NC seems to not want to play Cywka atm, whether its becauseof his 'lapses', as he sees them, or he just doesn't rate him, but he seemingly see's something we dont, as most of us seem to want to see him, and hope he can get back to performing like he was pre christmas last year.... if he can, what with S davies, O'brien,Hendrick, who needs new signings...... certainly till Jan, so we can properly appraise just what we have in this 'new' squad Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/7296-cywka/#findComment-198492 Share on other sites
Van der MoodHoover
We've a whole transfer windows worth of signings still to come back, with many untried (and unknown) combinations to come. With who and in what formation might Tyson be most effctive for example? Would he be devastating with Greeny? However, given comments elsewhere about how Cloughy can "spot" a player and tracks many for some considerable while it still seems odd to me how some of his are discarded seemingly so willingly. Cywka, Martin.....Croft just coming back into favour. I still believe there's a cunning plan in it all somewhere..... EdinburghRam
No where near as good as some people make out. Is good on his day but those are few and far between, too often he does nothing. Needs to widen up a bit before he'll get constistent games. Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/7296-cywka/#findComment-198573 Share on other sites
RotherhamRam
Before anyone jumps down my neck but I want people to consider something re Cywka. I lost count against Villa how many times he runs into a corner or turns instead of passing and then has to try and get a freekick, corner or throw and yes a number of times it works but it stops the attacks. He is great with both feet and battles but just does not see the pass that would free up other players and because of this he becomes naturally as less effective. This is because he will always try and beat his man - not a bad thing some will say (but it is if it is a blind alley he runs into). The midfield at present pass and move pass and move and feed in behind and turn the opposition midfield and defence. Once Cywka learns to pass and then run past a player for a return pass or pull a defender off he will be limited with chances. Croft for anyone who has watched him has lost god knows how much weight, he can tackle, he doesn't give up, his passing and crossing has improved, no he doesn't twist and turn etc but he has improved no end and I have to say he gets the nod over Cywka as he is more of a team player at present. Cywka has the skill and is young enough and can learnt that element and once he has done so will be everything people think he is and will do very well until then he is back up for me sorry. Alex W
I think Cywka is going to be affected by the '5 subs' rule, had there been 7 i'm sure he'd have been involved. Link to comment https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/7296-cywka/#findComment-198612 Share on other sites
