The 21-year-old had been on trial with the Brewers and featured in two pre-season friendlies. Burton boss Paul Peschisolido said: "Ross has come in and shown he is a good and reliable goalkeeper." Prior to Atkins' arrival at the Pirelli Stadium, the Brewers' only recognised keeper was 48-year-old goalkeeping coach Kevin Poole. We nick their manager and one of their defenders, then sign another defender that used to play for them and was sold by our manager when he was there. Then we sign their player of the year and only goal keeper. Any player who is any good is linked to us (unless they have already been here- and there have been a few). Not to mention stealing their backroom staff and to top it all off their caretaker manager was an ex- Derby player and manager and their new manager an ex- Derby player also.
